Saltenna's RF / Antenna Engineer will play an instrumental role in the development and implementation of an entirely new scientific approach to communications and sensing. Saltenna has the world's foremost experts in Plasmonic science with hundreds of published papers and tens of patents, and the applicant will get to work with them and learn from them.
The RF / Antenna Engineer will work with our chief scientists to develop unique forms of new antennas and electronics for Saltenna's communications solutions. This is a highly innovative role and will involve new forms of antennas, SDRs, radio software, and other innovations not seen in any other approaches on the market.
GOALS
The applicant will aim to move forward multiple facets of Saltenna's scientific and technology platform such as the following:
Develop physical and electronic RF / Antenna components.
Develop a suite of capabilities to enable rapid prototyping and experimentation.
Launch new RF products into production then support them.
Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to bring about game-changing new technology.
Use the latest science to produce ruggedized, practical products to get massive improvements in wireless communications out to both our warfighters and commercial markets.
Assist in the furthering of Plasmonic science along with our chief scientists. Contribute to scientific activities and translate the latest science into engineering solutions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND
Saltenna requires the following experience and background for the successful applicant:
Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Experience innovating, designing, and building secure RF / SDR / antenna solutions.
Experience in communications system design, analysis, integration, and evaluation.
Experience with COTS EM / RF modeling and simulation tools, e.g. HFSS.
Experience building solutions for DOD and/or other classified environments.
Experience working within physical constraints such as power, form factor, and other criteria.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with audiences of diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND
Saltenna prefers the following experience and background:
Cybersecurity expertise with RF systems used in critical environments such as DOD, IIoT, etc.
Experience designing for tamper resistance and encapsulation.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and businesspeople.
Ability to present a professional image for occasional field and customer-facing duties.
